Note: A traditional funeral ceremony that can be reached by foot will be included in the two-day Toraja tour. A typical Toraja local fruit and livestock market can also be visited during your two-day tour in Toraja Land. We offer a variety of activities, including trekking, rafting, and cycling. Itinerary
We will meet you at the airport or your hotel, then enjoy a 30-minute drive to Rammang-Rammang in Maros Regency. Upon arrival, take a boat ride and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the world’s second-largest karst forest. Lunch will be served at a local house. On the way back, visit Paotere Traditional Harbor and Fort Rotterdam. Overnight stay at the hotel.
First, we'll pick you up from the hotel or airport and head straight to your hotel in Toraja. Along the way, you'll get to see the traditional houses of the Bugis people. Second, we'll stop for lunch at a restaurant in the small city of Pare-Pare. Third, we'll continue our journey with a coffee break in the Enrekang district, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. After that, we'll continue on to Toraja. Finally, we'll arrive at your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll spend a full day exploring the fascinating Toraja Land. Our first stop is Lemo, where you'll see the unique cliff-side stone graves with wooden effigies on the balconies. Then, we'll continue to Tampang Allo, a cave burial site where the royal families are laid to rest. We'll also visit the Baby Grave. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. After lunch, we'll visit Kete Kesu, a traditional village famous for its beautiful wooden carvings. In the late afternoon, we'll return to the hotel for the night and dinner.
On the second full day of the excursion, you will visit the traditional cotton-weaving village of Sa’dan. The journey continues to Bori, home to ancient megalithic stones, before proceeding to Mount Sesean to enjoy panoramic views of the expansive rice-field terraces at Batutumonga. Lunch will be served at this beautiful location. After lunch, enjoy a gentle nature walk through the rice fields, where you can observe local activities along the way down to the village. Later, you will be picked up by our driver and transferred back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we continue our journey to Sengkang. Upon arrival, we check in at Sermani Hotel and get ready for a memorable experience at Lake Tempe. Enjoy a small boat ride to visit the unique floating houses and take in the peaceful atmosphere of the lake. After this relaxing excursion, we return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we continue the journey with a visit to a local silk-weaving center, as Sengkang is well known as the heart of the silk industry. Afterward, we travel south toward Bira. Lunch will be served at a small local restaurant with spectacular beach views, followed by a visit to Tana Beru, where the famous traditional Phinisi boats are built. We then continue on to Bira. Before arriving, an entrance fee will be collected, after which we proceed directly to the hotel. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at the hotel in Bira.
After breakfast, we will take you on an island trip to Liukang for snorkeling (optional). The journey takes approximately 30 minutes by local boat, depending on weather conditions. Lunch and a coffee break will be served at a small local restaurant. (Snorkeling equipment can be rented in Bira at your own expense.) In the afternoon, we return to Bira. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a simple accommodation.
After breakfast, the head returns to Makassar while stopping at the Tana Beru boat-building facility to observe the boat builders as they construct huge traditional Pinisi boats the old-fashioned way. We return to Makassar city after lunch. In the evening, dine on seafood at a famous seafood restaurant in Makassar. Spend the night in a hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, taking a quick tour of Makassar's city center includes stopping by the fortress, the sailing harbor, the sea-shell collection, the orchid garden, and a seafood restaurant for lunch. For your next location, depart on time from the airport.
